To the Zoo!
We spent Friday at the NC Zoo which is a great place to spend the day! David took the day off so that we could go during the week when the zoo is less crowded. Weston was very excited about going to the zoo, we had been talking about it all week long. We woke up ate breakfast and drove to the zoo, which is about an hour and a half. This was our second year visiting the zoo, and let me just say that this year was leaps and bounds better than last years trip. The weather couldn't have been better and the kids really enjoyed being there. Well Natalie kept falling asleep and when she wanted to walk it was only to dance around in circles, she did however make sure she was awake for lunch! Anyway enjoy the pictures, also to see more visit our web gallery.

My high point for the day
"Mommy, I'm your snuggle bear and I like to snuggle buggle"

And this is for not listening...
Let me set the scene for you: In Weston's room cleaning up before nap time. Mommy cleaning up blocks and Weston on the other side of the room cleaning up a mound of books.
Weston: Mommy clean up the books with Weston.
Mommy:
Weston: Please clean up books, Mommy.
Mommy: I'm cleaning blocks.
(Weston stomps across the room to Mommy and slaps her on her bottom)
Weston: Spanking for Mommy for not listening.
Mommy: Rolling laughter...

Walk on...
This last week I have been getting ready for a big consignment sale coming up, we dropped off items to sell on Saturday, (last Saturday David volunteered time..so we can shop early) and next Saturday we will be shopping. Of course rummaging through a bunch a stuff you are bound to find all kinds of things. And I found a little walker/push toy! Natalie loves it! She loves walking behind it and surprisingly she has really good control. Weston is also in love with the walker and has been fighting to get his fair share of turns, which of course is more than Natalie is allotted.

Sharing...
We are always working on sharing. Weston for the most part has done pretty well with sharing, until recently. I try to give him a choice with most things and with sharing the choice is either share the " said object" or I take it away for the day. And he has always decided to share the "said object" and he will tell Natalie or his friend that it is their turn and then his turn. But lately the "Forward" in him has really started to show, and it goes a little like this:
Me: "Weston, share Mr. Bump with Natalie."
Weston: No comment. (Death grip now on Mr. Bump)
Me: "Weston, share Mr. Bump or I will take it away for the day."
Weston: Looks at Mr. Bump hands it to me... "Take it away, Mommy."

Bath Buddies!
Usually Daddy gives bath's in the evening as part of their bedtime routine. But today we broke routine (Weston was just stinkey)...so I decided to go ahead and throw both of them in the tub together! Weston and Natalie were both very excited and had a great time giggling and splashing..oh dear..lots of splashing!! No picture's since I was already in the bathroom when I decided to start the bath. I'm sure there will be more though.
Weston and his new wheels!
Weston is in love with his new tricycle. He has loved it since he gazed his eyes upon the box it came it. Daddy quickly assembled it...they figured out the very cool bell and Weston has not stopped playing with it since. The first couple of days he even brought it to the table with him when he ate!! Thank Aunt Jen and Uncle Mark!

Busy, Busy and Strange December
I can't believe it's December... okay middle of December already! It's been high 70s this past week, we've been trying to enjoy the weather with a lot of park and outside time. Crazy weather for December.
David was in an accident a little over a week ago. He is fine and the other people are fine but our commuter car was totaled...so that has left us searching for a car..which isn't much fun. We have found a car and will be buying it tonight, nothing fancy just another commuter car. But I know David is especially happy to turn in his rental and move forward with all this.
We had a window in our foyer crack...from what we can tell nothing hit it...it just crack..maybe all this crazy weather. (The outside pane cracked not the inside.)So sometime in the new year we will be replacing a window.
And last but not least I made my first call to POISON CONTROL. Weston likes to play by himself in his room a lot (probably because I moved all of his toys up there), I turn on the monitor so I can here what he is doing. I was working on some stuff downstairs and all of a sudden I realized there was no noise...I started for the stairs rather quickly and was met by a very panicked Weston. He was covered with a white cream all over his belly, legs and of course his mouth. I realized by the smell and the empty tube that he handed me that he had gotten into his cortizone cream (for his eczema). I wiped his mouth out and called poison control, they were very nice and the only thing I had to do was wipe his mouth out and give him some fluids to flush the taste out of his mouth. Needless to say he had a very upset tummy followed by some not so fun trips to the bathroom.
So as you can see it has been an interesting month so far...can't wait to see what the rest of the month will bring!

Good Morning, Natalie!
Lately Weston has been waking up before us and sneaking into Natalie's room and we are pretty sure he is waking her up. We have caught him talking to her and singing his Good Morning song to her. The first morning we realized this, David woke me up and told me Weston was in her room (he heard Weston on her monitor saying "I'll hold you") , I jolted out of bed and started running up the stairs...then I realized how paranoid I was being so I went to get the video camera to try and capture it on camera..no luck. It's pretty sweet actually, she loves it. When we get up there she is usually giggling and pumping those crazy legs. I'm waiting for the day I get up there and he's in the crib with her or she's on the floor with him!

Weston and Natalie
Weston is absolutely in love with Natalie and she thinks he is pretty amusing. Weston likes to read to her. When he wakes up from naptime or sometimes in the morning if Natalie wakes up before him (not often) Natalie comes with me to get him and he always wants us (mainly Natalie) to snuggle with him on his bed. We sing him a good morning song. Lately he has been asking me to "hold it please" and at first I wasn't sure what he was asking but he was persistent and started to grab at Natalie and I realized he means "hold her please" I have been trying to explain that Natalie is not an it..that she would be a her or Natalie when asking to hold her.. He agrees with the Natalie not sure about the her. So if he remembers he will ask to "hold Natalie please" and now as soon as she is in his arms he asks for a "picture please" SO I have a lot of pictures of the two of them. Enjoy!

Things that go bump in the night...
The other night I was tossing and turning in bed and all of the sudden I heard the pitter patter of footsteps in the foyer?? I didn't hear anyone open a door or come down the steps..so I got up and ran into Weston!! I asked him what he was doing and he told me he was getting his blankey...he was headed to the laundry room (earlier in the day I had cleaned his blankey)..I told him it was clean and in his bed. I took him upstairs and put him back in bed, I layed next to him until I thought he was asleep..he was snoring but when I looked over his eyes were open! It was a weird night..I think he may have been sleep walking? Anyway since that night it has happened a couple more times.

Fire Truck
Today at Weston's school they had the local fire department come and talk to the kids about what they do. I told Weston last night that we were going to see a fire truck today, and this morning when he woke up and all the way to school he kept saying fire truck weeeeoooweeeooo (my attempt to spell what the siren sounds like) it was really cute. When we got there he took it all in and was a little scared around the firemen and the truck. One of the firemen dressed up in full gear and they wanted the kids to shake his hand or give him a high five...but Weston was not budging and every time I asked him if he wanted to go up there and shake his hand he would say NO...I have to admit in full gear the fireman looked a little alien like. Anyway they ended up having to leave to put out a fire, and Weston didn't warm up to them soon enough so I took a picture of the fire truck. When they left Weston stood there and waved and waved and kept saying "bye bye fire truck...weeeeooweeeeeoooo" When we got back I got out a fire truck that his Papa Jeff had bought him about two years ago. He has been carrying it around, ate lunch with it and wanted to nap with the truck.

Weston
He has been pretty funny lately. He's becoming such a little boy and he is such a good brother to his baby sister. Over the last six months or so he has been completely into snuggling...and I'm loving it! Although I have a sneaky suspicion that snuggling is just a way to get out of things...like naptime, cleaning up..etc. The other day Weston brought his chair from the back porch and brought it to the table to eat his beloved yogurt...he also decided it would taste best without the spoon...which is odd because most days he wants a napkin the moment yogurt makes contact with his hands.

And who says sunglasses aren't cool indoors?

No Nap For Me!
Sometimes it can be a challenge to get Weston to take his nap..but he still needs it and I need the quiet time too. This is a day a gave up the fight..A. he was too cute...and B. I was a little too tired to fight it.
Coming down the stairs..testing the waters..Mommy laughed and got the camera..naptime fight over.

Victory for Weston!

Daddy came home..Weston gave him a hug and fell asleep!
