I know with fall on it's way and school days right around the corner I have been stocking my pantry to get ready for school days and busy sports filled evenings. I  love to keep my pantry well stocked because if you have a well stocked pantry you always have the choice to make something at home instead of going to a drive thru. And that my friends, is one of the biggest battles in making healthy food choices.

Last week I didn't want to go to the grocery store due to a trip we were getting ready to take but because I had a well stocked pantry I was able to throw together a handful of dinners using only what was in my pantry and bits and pieces of what was left in my fridge.

So what kind of things do I stock in my pantry with?

If you are just started on your journey to healthier living take it one step at a time. Don't look in your pantry and feel discouraged. If you have unhealthy foods crowding your pantry start by not buying things that have a long list of ingredients that you can't read. Stop purchasing that stuff! Start buying healthier choices. And as you stop buying unhealthy things they will run out  and you will have slowly replaced them with healthy options without killing your food budget.

What kind of things do you like to stock in your pantry?

Love the pantry list. Took the quiz and....only missing pretzels and steel cut oats!

I'd love to see some healthy lunch ideas for back to school. Blog post idea????

Your pantry is better stocked than mine. I need to make a better effort to keep easy dinner ideas on hand to avoid the take out food.

I scored pretty good against your checklist except for the freezer part. I don't like a crowded freezer! I am trying to get away from canned goods because of the BPA, and move towards bottles. But I love the convenience of those canned beans. Thanks for the encouragement.

I have been thinking about a back to school post, lunch ideas for the kiddos and for Moms too! Congrats on winning the giveaway, I will be in contact with you shortly.

That's great to hear that you have a well stocked pantry! I am fortunate to have an extra freezer in the garage which helps with overcrowding in my main freezer (I'm not a big fan of overcrowding either). I agree with you on the canned goods and the BPA but when push comes to shove I would much rather eat a canned good than mystery food at the fast food restaurant for sure! I still plan on moving toward less canned goods though...work in progress. :) Thanks for reading and participating!!
