A spoonful of sugar...

Makes the medicine go down or so they say? Where have we been you may be asking yourself...well we have been sick! First Weston woke up in the middle of the night one day last week with a fever...I took him to the doctor in the morning low and behold he had an ear infection brewing! So we picked up his medicine went home and rested...if only we knew what was lurking around the corner! That evening when I went to bed I didn't feel that well, and when I woke up it was a lot worse!! Weston woke up a lot worse too...we had a stomach bug that was going around and spent the majority of the next 24 hours very very close to the bathroom. True as it was it only lasted 24 hours, I seemed to get the worst of it! Fortunately Natalie was unaffected and we thought that David was going to make it through without it too...until Saturday came around and David was attack by the nasty little stomach bug we all had (which was a bit funny since David always says he never gets sick..hee hee). And in the middle of this David's Mom came in to town on Friday and we were able to have a pretty good weekend despite all the sickness going around!

Pictures are coming..not of the sickness.

Someone is starting to feel better!

So Weston has really made a great recovery! He started feeling better around Friday and now his appetite has finally started to return. Most of last week he felt terrible all he would eat or drink was chocolate milk. He was on a chocolate milk diet for about four days...so now I am afraid we have created a monster a chocolate monster that is!! He will now ask for choco milk and if you just grab the regular milk and start filling his glass he will have a break down and get in the fridge and grab the chocolate syrup for you to add to his plain milk...so next plan is to wean him from his chocolate milk addiction. :p The other thing that has been rather challenging since he became sick has been giving him his medicine...oh my!! We have had to give it to him twice a day for 10 days...and everytime is a real battle. The second he sees us get it out he starts running all over the house and trying to hide, once we are able to convince him to come to us we then have to pin him down and try to get the syringe in his mouth...he has now learned that if he blows rasberries the whole time we can't get any in...oh and he also knows how not to swallow things and just let it run out of his mouth!! So needless to say we have tried many different methods to give him this medicine and now we are just praying for the 10th day!! I would have to say I would rather give pills to a cat than give a toddler medicine they don't want!!

A first for us...

We just got back from the doctor and Weston has managed to get his first ear infection. Last night he woke up around midnight talking gibberish...so I went up to check on him and I noticed he was burning up. So I took his ear temperature and it was 106 which caused a lot of concern, so then I took his rectal and it was 103.4 which is still a pretty good fever. Needless to say Mommy and Daddy were worried most of the night and Mommy ended up sleeping with Weston in his bed. So we had a pretty long night last night. But for being sick, Weston is in good spirits and silly as ever. Although of course he did not like being poked by the doctor but after we left and he was able to get a sucker he was back to being silly. We are grateful that he has been such a healthy baby and feel incredibly blessed that this is the first time we have had to deal with an ear infection. Anyway, I know this is a boring post...but this is what's going on in our house today!
